The actuarial profession is well-suited to individuals who enjoy challenges and problems solving. Those who can prove success have many opportunities for growth and advancement. Multiple employers give merit increases to actuaries as they gain experience and frequently give increases to actuaries as they pass examinations. Some companies also offer cash bonuses, salary increases and/or promotions for each professional designation achieved.

Skills acquired by actuaries, especially the quantitative analysis of risk, are valued in the marketplace. As such, those who have the will to succeed can aspire to much career advancement with an actuarial credential.

The U.S. Department of Labor also projects that employement opportunities for ACtuaries will increase much faster then the average rate.
